Why You NEED an In-Home Newborn Session

Becoming a parent is the beginning of a wonderful (and at times, challenging) journey.  You prepare your home, you read the books, you are given boatloads of advice from loved ones, and you’re as ready as you can be.  And then *boom* (okay, it involves A LOT more than just boom), but the next thing you know, you’re home and completely responsible for this tiny human.

Your heart has never been more full and your exhaustion levels have never been so palpable.  The world is a beautiful, messy blur.

All of this is why I photograph newborns in your home and not in a studio.  This is where you decorated a nursery; it’s where you dreamt about what your baby would look like; it’s where you created a family.  It’s also a heck of a lot easier to have someone come to you in those first couple of weeks instead of having to leave the house!

I want you to have those precious details that slip from your minds so quickly.  I want you to physically feel the 8 lbs, 6 oz in your arms and your body to start moving side to side when you look at a photograph of you holding your baby.  I want you to feel it in your soul.

But also, what’s one of the best reasons to have your newborn photography session in-home? All family members are included- four legged ones especially. Let’s not forget those first babies.
