I WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS YOUR CHILD

One of my favorite things about taking photographs of children is that they wear their emotions front and center.  The slightest change in thought or reaction radiates from the arch of their eye brows to the smirk in their smile.

As a parent, I want to remember each of these expressions as my child gets older.  I don’t want the fake “cheese” smile.  I want their belly laugh expression; their contemplative assessment of what is happening; their serious stare that bores through your soul.

What Should We Expect?

I want to capture your child's personality in all it's glory.  I will likely play games, talk/sing to them, and make funny noises to engage with them.  I will never ask them to say "cheese" because I want to get their true smiles.  I have children's music on hand as well.  I go with the flow of the child and their mood.  If you have a little one that needs a teacher nearby, I will have the teacher sit with them. Your child's comfort is very important to me.

What About Siblings?

I will be photographing siblings at 8:30 on Tuesday 9/19 & Wednesday 9/20. I will place the images in the younger child’s gallery for viewing and purchase.

95% of the time these photos work without problem, but if your children are just not having it, I honestly do not push it because the comfort of your children is important to me.

What should my child wear?

Photos are taken from the waist up.  Make sure that the child's outfit fits him/her well so that the top of their shirt or dress is not bunching up around their ears.

I will be using a black backdrop and pictures will be provided in both black/white and color options to choose from.  Please avoid graphics and neon clothing. Solid colors or simple, classic patterns work best.

I will have wipes on hand to wipe noses or snack debris.  I can edit small scratches or marks if you choose to purchase retouching, but I do not edit out nail polish colors or fake tattoos.

How will you order?

Pictures will be ready on 10/14/24. You will be e-mailed the link to a class proofing gallery. There will be 2-5 images of each child. Images will be in both color and black and white. I do not choose which photos you print; you do. You will be able to order prints, canvas wraps, and digital files directly from the viewing gallery. The ordering process is simple and secure. The gallery will be live for seven (7) days. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED IN THAT SEVEN DAY PERIOD.

This year, prints will be delivered to your home instead of picked up at the school.

Meet Jocelyn, your photographer

Jocelyn Miller - Branding - Apr2021-39.jpg

Hey there, hi there!

I’m so stoked to be photographing your beautiful children this fall! I have been providing school portraits for seven years and been a photographer for eleven. I have two little ones of my own- an 10 year old boy and 8 year old girl. I also spent 12 years as a foster care social worker, so I’m really comfortable around children with all types of personalities. Want to know more? Check out the link below.
