In-home Family Session

One of my favorite things about this job is that I am blessed with the opportunity to watch a family grow and evolve.  And each year we meet up, I’m spending time with friends that I truly enjoy and appreciate.  Their children know who I am and I know their personalities.  

This was fifth time I photographed this family and the second year this family choose to have their annual fall photography session in their home. 

It’s relaxed, it’s fun, and they love that they don’t have to go anywhere!  

When I arrive at a family’s home, I ask one of the children to give me the grand tour.  This is their space, their turf, and I’m along for the ride. 

With children who are shy by nature, they often shake those shy vibes away really quickly when they’re in their own home.  

I love seeing each child’s room- it’s their personal space where they can show off what they love- dolls, the color bright pink, dinosaurs, etc.  And over the years, their rooms evolve just as they do.  The posters and decor move from princesses to boy bands, from super heroes to star wars.  It’s a small tidbit of your child’s world that belongs to them and is their own.
